Logistics Service Provider opens Branch at Hamburg Airport - "Exploiting all Synergy Effects"

DREWES Logistics, the logistics division of the globally active transport and forwarding company DREWES Group, headquartered in Bremen, is expanding its air freight activities. A team of four experts is now active at the Hamburg Airport Cargo Center (HACC). The branch has its own IATA license.

"Air freight solutions are of enormous importance"

For Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Patric Drewes, "air cargo solutions have enormous significance in the context of our industrial project logistics." With the expansion of its own air cargo activities, combined with a continuing expansion of the global partner network, Drewes intends to significantly push the business with individual complete logistics solutions from a single source and under the umbrella of DREWES Logistics.

Hamburg is an ideal logistics location for DREWES Logistics

With aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg is considered the third largest aviation industry location worldwide. "In the field of logistics, I even see Hamburg in first place in Northern Europe," says Drewes. "The combination of airport, seaport, and good rail and road connections makes the metropolis an excellent transport hub – and thus an ideal location for us."

Synergy effects are exploited

The air freight team at the HACC, which will initially consist of four experts, will take care of logistics services primarily for industrial capital goods, medical equipment, ship and motor vehicle spare parts, and veterinary products. "In doing so, we naturally take advantage of all the synergy effects that result from implementing our own air freight department in a project logistics company," Drewes emphasizes. The new office not only draws on the logistics capabilities of HACC, but also operates from Hamburg at all airports in Germany.
