DREWES Logistics completes major steel pipe shipment

1,299 steel pipes with a total weight of 8,533 metric tons have successfully completed their transatlantic journey from Bremen, Germany, to Wilmington, USA – marking another important milestone in an ongoing logistics project for EUROPIPE GmbH.

DREWES Logistics is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of the logistics chain on both sides of the Atlantic. The scope of services includes port handling in Germany, ocean transportation and chartering, as well as the complete logistics operation following arrival in the United States.

After successful loading in Bremen and ocean transportation across the Atlantic, the cargo was safely discharged in Wilmington. From there, DREWES Logistics coordinated the intra-port logistics and transfer of the pipes to an intermediate storage facility, where the cargo is currently being held in preparation for the next phase of the project.

The final step will comprise the onward transportation of the pipes by truck from the storage facility to the designated job site.

Throughout the operation, members of the DREWES team were personally present on site to coordinate the individual interfaces and ensure smooth execution. Close coordination between all parties involved is particularly important in projects of this scale, where vessel operations, cargo handling, storage and inland transportation need to be precisely synchronized.

The successful shipment once again demonstrates DREWES Logistics’ expertise in managing complex international pipe logistics projects and providing integrated solutions across the entire transport chain – from port of loading to final job site.
