Bremen-based logistics and shipping company group continues expansion course

DREWES Logistics GmbH - a DREWES Group division - has acquired the French project logistics service provider PHILCO INTERNATIONAL. With this move, the forwarding and project logistics company with global operations and headquarters in Bremen is continuing its expansion strategy.

Dr.-Ing. Patric Drewes, explaining the acquisition: "With PHILCO, we are strengthening our presence, especially in the major French ports and at the Paris airport." Drewes also focuses on the North African market being particularly interesting for project cargo. PHILCO is the official contract partner of the Egyptian state logistics service provider Martrans and a long-term member of several leading international project cargo networks.

"The three PHILCO locations in Marseille, Le Havre and Paris will be retained and integrated into the DREWES Logistics network in a timely manner," announces Rudy Claes, Managing Director DREWES Logistics Belgium & France. Philippe Coadou, who founded PHILCO in 1998, is sure "that his company and team are in good hands". He will continue to consult DREWES Logistics in the future.

In order to make the growth course even more visible to the outside world, the DREWES Group is currently repositioning itself on the market: The subsidiaries Carl Polzin Seehafenspedition and Logistics Plus Projects, which previously operated independently, will now be managed under the newly created DREWES Logistics GmbH division. PHILCO INTERNATIONAL will also be integrated in this new division.

THB Transport- und Handelsberatungsgesellschaft, which also belongs to the Group, with its shipbroking, operating and agency activities, will in future operate under the brand DREWES Shipping.

In April of this year, the DREWES Group opened an air freight office at Hamburg Airport with its own IATA license in the Hamburg Airport Cargo Center (HACC). This results in DREWES Group being present with own airfreight IATA licensed offices in Hamburg and Paris with connecting airfreight partners worldwide.
