Logistics, Project Logistics

Bremen, Germany, February 2026 – Global logistics and freight forwarding provider DREWES Logistics, headquartered in Bremen, Germany, has established its own national subsidiary in India as of January 1st, 2026. To this end, DREWES Logistics acquired a majority stake in an established Indian logistics company.

The company’s seven locations in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad have been transferred to the newly formed entity DREWES Logistics India and are now fully integrated into the group’s international network.

“With DREWES Logistics India, we are now offering our expertise in project logistics, ocean freight and air freight in one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies,” said Dr.-Ing. Patric Drewes, Managing Director of DREWES Logistics.

Sundresh Sarup, previously Managing Director of the acquired company, will continue to lead DREWES Logistics India, ensuring continuity in day-to-day operations as well as in long-standing customer relationships. DREWES Logistics India currently employs 52 people.

Closer to customers and industrial projects in India

“With the integration of our former company into DREWES Logistics, a new chapter begins for us in India,” said Managing Director Sundresh Sarup. “I have known the market, our customers, and our teams for many years. Together with the global expertise of DREWES Logistics, we are now creating a strong combination of an international network and deep local market knowledge.”

India as a strategic growth market for logistics

India is gaining increasing importance as a production and sourcing location and is one of the fastest-growing large economies worldwide. “Diversified supply chains, geopolitical risk mitigation, and new bilateral trade initiatives are prompting many European companies to expand their activities in South Asia. As a result, demand is rising for internationally integrated logistics providers that combine global standards with local market expertise,” explained Dr.-Ing. Patric Drewes, outlining the company’s rationale for entering the Indian market.

Thomas Hölker, Co-Managing Director of DREWES Logistics, added: “With our new national subsidiary, we are positioning ourselves in an environment with long-term growth potential, particularly in project-related industrial and plant logistics – our core competency.”

“Having our own team and dedicated structures in India is essential for consistently meeting the needs of our worldwide capital-goods customers,” said Sascha Simon, Co-Managing Director of the DREWES Group. “As production and sourcing gradually shift to India, logistics processes must be reliable and closely aligned with the local market.”

DREWES Logistics India works in close coordination with the company’s headquarters in Bremen and the global DREWES Group network. This enables international customers to manage projects and transport chains between Europe and the Indian subcontinent more efficiently in the future.

Further international expansion planned

For DREWES Logistics, the market entry into India marks another significant milestone in its global expansion strategy. “We are consistently pursuing our growth trajectory. Additional locations outside Europe are already in the planning stages,” said Sascha Simon.
